Pura Vida means “Pure Life”, and that’s exactly what we’re embracing on this 6-day journey through Costa Rica! Have you ever dreamed of exploring volcanoes? Finding natural hot springs in the wild? What about stumbling upon waterfalls nestled deep inside lush rainforests? If you’ve answered yes to any of the questions above, this is your sign to say yes once more.
We’ll be connecting with the vibrant wildlife, and you’ll even get to experience hands-on cooking classes learning how to create delicious local dishes.
Whether you’re soaking in the hot springs, hiking through the wild, or savoring the authentic flavors, this trip is filled with unforgettable moments waiting for you!
-Welcome to the tropical paradise that is Costa Rica! Step off the plane to meet your group and find your driver who will bring you to your hotel in the heart of San Jose.
-Drop off your bags, take this time to relax, and get your first taste of this beautiful country. With a free evening ahead, you might wander into the Central Market for fresh fruits and street foods, or check out some of the museums spotted around the city. If you’re feeling adventurous, Escazu is an elevated region to the west of the city offering stunning views of the valley and will remind you that here is exactly where you are meant to be.
-As the sun starts to set over the city, take in all of its beauty as you head back to the hotel and rest up for the adventure that lies ahead.
-Start your day with breakfast at the hotel before checking out and heading to La Fortuna in a private transfer.
-Enjoy the lush scenery along the way, then explore Mistico Hanging Bridges park, where suspension bridges offer stunning views of the Arenal Volcano and vibrant wildlife. Here you’ll have a unique opportunity to spot over 350 different species of birds, monkeys, sloths, and so much more!
-After a day of incredible views, check into your new hotel and unwind before indulging in a culinary adventure at Arenal Vida Campesina. Here you’ll connect with a local family who practice sustainable farming and believe in sharing traditional Costa Rican experiences with their guests. They will help you gather fresh ingredients from the farm, cook an authentic ‘Tico’ meal, and make some jungle juice to enjoy as you go.
-With full bellies and happy hearts, you’ll return to the hotel for the night.
-Fuel up with breakfast at the hotel, and get ready for a guided hike through the rainforest!
-As you make your way on the trail, you will encounter some of Costa Rica’s most sought out treasures, like the Celeste River Waterfall and the Blue Lagoon, where you can stop to take a dip to cool down in the tropical heat. You’ll also come across a stunning viewpoint, so be sure to have your hearts open and your cameras ready to take in the magic of this place.
-Before heading back to the hotel for lunch, take a tranquil dip in the natural hot springs on the way, thus returning feeling brand new.
-After breakfast, you’ll be on your way to Los Chiles where you’ll hop on a boat and have a unique floating safari experience at the Caño Negro Wildlife. These waterways will introduce you to an abundance of tropical wildlife while making your way through lush rainforests, marshlands, and pastures. Your guide will help you identify hundreds of bird species, howler monkeys, sloths, and even caiman as you indulge in traditional snacks and fresh juices to keep your energy up and your eyes alert.
-However, the adventure doesn’t end there. You’ll then enjoy a typical lunch accompanied by local tropical fruits and fresh coffee before touching land again and heading back to the hotel.
-Have breakfast at the hotel and make your way to the start of your hike to the La Fortuna Waterfalls.
-Take a dip in the refreshing blue waters before you head to the tree tops for epic views from an adrenaline pumping zipline adventure! As you soar through the tropical skies, don’t forget to catch your breath and take it all in (even if you are moving pretty fast!)
-After getting a rush, allow yourself to slow down with an easy hike on the 1968 trail to explore the region's volcanic history.
-From here, enjoy a much-deserved soak in the Ecotermales hot springs which are naturally heated by the Arenal volcano! You’ll indulge in your final dinner together as a group before heading back to the hotel, getting ready to say goodbye.
-Have breakfast at the hotel before checking out and getting in your transfer to the airport. Give your new friends one last hug before getting on the plane and making your way back home.
