Hi! We are Chris & Kim Ohno, the founders of Sunstone Yoga in Los Angeles. Yoga has always been an integral connection in our relationship, beginning with meeting in a yoga class in Venice Beach in 2013. We spent our courtship practicing yoga together, each taking teacher certification with Tamal Dodge, and eventually becoming engaged at one of Tamal's yoga philosophy retreats. Our relationship with each other and yoga continues to grow with our first studio, Sunstone Yoga, and we are so grateful for the community we are building in the space. We look forward to sharing experiences and connecting on a deeper level, creating lifelong memories in Costa Rica!

Cancellation policy
TourHero, the retreat host, and the tour operator reserve the right to cancel or reschedule this trip up until December 19, 2024. If the departure is canceled out of your control, you will be alerted by this date and will receive a full refund.
In this case, TourHero is not responsible for your preparation expenses, such as airline tickets, extra accommodations, loss of work, or any other cost associated with preparing for your trip. We recommend booking travel insurance, along with refundable flights/accommodations in case of cancellation.
Refunds for deposits
We will hold your spot as soon as you put down your deposit. However, if you decide to cancel your trip, we will be unable to refund your deposit.
Refunds for fully-paid trips
You may change or cancel your trip by December 19, 2024 for a refund, excluding the deposit. After this date, no refunds will be given. You can change or cancel your trip in your TourHero account under the section titled Your Trips.

Day 1 · February 22, 2025
Welcome to the paradise that is Uvita, Costa Rica
-Upon arriving at SJO airport, meet your group at 9:00 am for a transfer to the Synergy Retreats center, a scenic four-hour journey.
-Once checked in, refuel with lunch, and enjoy some free time to unwind and settle into your jungle surroundings.
-In the afternoon, the retreat will officially commence with a welcome circle and Yin Yoga session, setting the tone for the next few days and intentions for ourselves and the group.
-Our tranquil first night will conclude with a nourishing dinner, allowing you to connect and prepare for the transformative days ahead.
Day 2 · February 23, 2025
Go chasing waterfalls in between yoga sessions
-Our days at the retreat begin with invigorating morning sun salutations and yoga flow, helping us greet the day with energy and mindfulness.
-After a nourishing breakfast, embark on a walk to the stunning Uvita Waterfall, where you can immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Costa Rica.
-Take advantage of free time for lunch and relaxation.
-In the early evening, a Restorative/Yin yoga session will provide deep relaxation and rejuvenation.
-We’ll close out the day with dinner and an engaging philosophy talk to inspire reflection and inner growth.
Day 3 · February 24, 2025
Spend the day at the beach and let the Pura Vida vibes work its magic
-The day begins with morning yoga and breakfast, followed by a beach excursion! Enjoy the sun, sand, and surf of Costa Rica's beautiful coastline.
-A late lunch will be followed by free time, where you can choose to nap, explore, or indulge in spa treatments for ultimate relaxation.
-Release and renew with an early evening Yin/restorative yoga session.
-Dinner will offer a chance to gather and share experiences, followed by enlightening philosophy talk, fostering deep reflection.
Day 4 · February 25, 2025
Sacred ceremony and movement provide the perfect backdrop for our last full day in Uvita
-After our morning flow, partake in a sacred cacao ceremony – an ancient ritual that will open your heart and activate your senses.
-Venture out on a wild jungle excursion, immersing yourself in the lush natural surroundings of Costa Rica.
-Lunch will be followed by free time and an afternoon session of Yin/Restorative yoga, promoting deep relaxation and healing.
-Our final night here concludes with a nourishing dinner and an insightful philosophy talk, fostering reflection and inner growth. Consider your time here, what you’ll release, and what you’ll take home.
Day 5 · February 26, 2025
Reflect on your time in Uvita, as you prepare to make the journey home
-After an early breakfast, check out of your accommodation and take the group transfer back to SJO airport, marking the end of your transformative journey.
-We hope you leave here with a full heart, ready to conquer your dreams back home. Safe travels, and be well!

What happens if I need to cancel my trip?

Will TourHero or the operator take care of my visa (if applicable)?
Travelers are responsible for researching visa requirements and obtaining a visa if needed. Please check government websites to ensure you have the necessary documents, along with passport requirements, before your departure date. This includes necessary transit visas, permits, and vaccinations required prior to travel and any required reciprocity fees for the destination. TourHero will provide a booking confirmation document after purchase, which may be needed to obtain a visa.
If your visa is denied for any reason, TourHero will issue a refund based on the cancellation policy. However, we are unable to provide a refund after the cancellation due date has passed.
Do I need a passport for this trip?
A full and valid passport is required for all persons traveling to any destination outside of one’s home country. Most international tours require a passport that's valid for at least six (6) months beyond the scheduled end of your Itinerary. TourHero will not issue refunds based on passport issues such as renewals or lost passports.
