Joy Millea (E-RYT 500) has 20 years experience teaching yoga, meditation and breath techniques in Southern California at the renowned Yoga Shakti Studios school of yoga. And is founder of JoyNow Yoga.
I began practicing yoga in my early 30s to regain my equilibrium after childbirth, relieve stress from early motherhood and rebuild strength lost during pregnancy, childbirth and the years that followed.
Not only did yoga deliver all of that, it provided me a clear path by which to continue life. Today I teach yoga classes, retreats, and meditation workshops; and work with mothers to help them regain their equilibrium and strength after childbirth.
I have co-hosted retreats in Costa Rica and Southern California for the past 5 years. And look forward to hosting many more worldwide!

-Your journey to soul rejuvenation begins as you arrive at Liberia International Airport. At 2:00 pm, a group transfer will take you through the lush landscapes of Costa Rica to our serene haven, Naya Nosara.
-Upon check-in, you'll have free time to unwind, explore the tranquil grounds, or simply relax and soak in the peaceful atmosphere.
-At 5:30 pm, we'll come together for a welcome and stretch session – a gentle introduction to the week's holistic practices, designed to ease any travel fatigue and ground you in the present moment.
-Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm, followed by an evening circle, where we'll set our intentions and foster connections within our new wellness community.
-Rise with the sun and start your morning with a tranquil meditation, allowing the gentle sounds of Costa Rica to guide you into a state of mindfulness.
-After nourishing yourself with breakfast, we'll flow into a rejuvenating yoga session. This practice harmonizes breath and movement, enhancing your connection with your inner self amidst the serene surroundings of Naya Nosara.
-At 10:00 am, deepen your meditation practice in our ‘Go Deeper’ session. This 30-minute exploration delves into advanced techniques and philosophies, enriching your understanding and enhancing your mindfulness journey.
-The afternoon brings an opportunity to connect with nature on an optional jungle hike. Wander through lush rainforests, where the vibrant flora and fauna embody the heartbeat of Costa Rica's rich biodiversity. If you prefer a more restful afternoon, enjoy free time by the pool, indulge in a soothing massage (additional charge), or visit the nearby beach to bask in the sun and surf.
-As the day winds down, we'll share a delightful dinner, then gather around the fire pit for our evening circle.

-Today’s ‘Go Deeper’ session is focused on Ayurveda. This ancient holistic healing system from India teaches the balance of mind, body, and spirit through natural therapies and lifestyle practices. You'll learn how to incorporate Ayurvedic principles into your daily routine to enhance overall well-being.
-Following lunch, embark on a horseback ride to the beach! Journey through lush landscapes to the serene shoreline, experiencing Costa Rica's natural beauty from a unique perspective.
-An afternoon of free time awaits before we reconvene at 6:00 pm for a mindful eating experience during dinner, deepening our practice of presence and gratitude.
-As night falls, join us around the fire pit for our evening circle under the stars.
-Begin your day with our uplifting morning routine of meditation, breakfast, and yoga. The rest of the morning offers free time to indulge in activities like lounging by the pool or shoreline, enjoying a massage (additional charge), or embarking on a scenic hike.
-At 3:00 pm, we'll gather for a traditional sweat lodge experience, a profound practice aimed at detoxifying the body and rejuvenating the spirit.
-Dinner is served at 6:30 pm, followed by our evening circle around the fire pit.
-Our final full day here begins with a rejuvenating morning meditation, followed by a wholesome breakfast and an energizing yoga session.
-At 10:00 am, we'll delve into our last ‘Go Deeper’ workshop on anatomy, enhancing your understanding of how your body moves and responds during practice.
-After lunch, we'll head to the beach! This trip offers the perfect opportunity to relax by the ocean, enjoy the sun, or engage in seaside activities.
-When the sun sets, we’ll gather for our farewell dinner, then close out the evening around the fire, providing a space to reflect on your experiences and deepen connections within the group.
-Enjoy a relaxing morning and sleep in before joining us for breakfast. Take this time to reflect on your journey and savor the peaceful ambiance of Naya Nosara one last time.
-By 10:30 am, we’ll check out of our accommodations and take the group transfer to Liberia International Airport.
