Welcome to Iceland! This stunning country is home to some truly iconic sights, but we are going to get a bit off the beaten path during our stay to find absolute tranquility. After landing, you’ll take your group transfer to the hotel in Hveragerði, a calm town a bit outside of Reykjavik. When you arrive, you’ll be immersed in verdant hills with a river nearby, aligning you with nature and her beauty. After dropping off your bags, attend your first yoga session of the trip, then come together with the group during a welcome dinner. Get to know your fellow retreaters and toast to a wonderful experience ahead!
We’re hanging in Hveragerði today, and our schedule is nothing but yoga and free time. We’ll have a movement session to kick off the day before breakfast with your fellow travelers. You’ll have some time to yourself in the afternoon that you can use to relax or venture to the iconic Blue Lagoon! Pamper your body in the healing waters of this magical sanctuary and see why its become a bucket list item for most adventurers. (See add-ons below for more information and pricing.)
We’ll wrap up the day with a Yoga Nidra group meditation before our group meal. This is the perfect schedule to help you simply unwind and let go of your stresses.
It’s not everyday that you get to bathe in an Icelandic geothermal river beneath the stars, but that’s exactly what you’ll have the chance to do today. After morning yoga and breakfast, you can either spend the day relaxing at the resort or head out with a local guide to a hiking trail that will take you deep into the wilderness. Along the way, you’ll boil some eggs in a hot spring and sip on some hot chocolate to keep your spirits up as the sun begins to set. Don’t fret, though – treat the darkness as a friend and let it show you the environment in an entirely new light (or lack thereof). Once you’re at the river, you’ll swim, eat a meal, and listen to the sounds of nature. The water will be plenty warm thanks to the fact that it’s geothermally-heated, so enjoy! With any luck, you’ll get to see the northern lights dancing in the sky during the hike back. (See add-ons below for more information and pricing.
For those choosing to hang back, close out the day with a dinner on-site and get a great night’s rest.
It’s already the last full day in Iceland! We’re once again spending our day focused on yoga and relaxation. You’re welcome to explore the grounds of the hotel and take advantage of the amenities here – the hot tub and the sauna are musts. The main goal of today is to work on your mind-body connection and to appreciate the little things. Luckily, in a location this beautiful, that’s an easy task.
What an excellent trip! After our morning routine of yoga and breakfast, we’ll be transferring back to the airport so that you can catch a flight back home. Thanks for joining us – we hope you had an amazing time.
