Iceland > Imagery of Iceland: Geysers, Glaciers, and Northern Lights with Caitlyn

Let's not mince words: Iceland might just be the most beautiful country in the world. Sparsely populated and home to diverse and stunning landscapes, it's the ultimate destination for anyone with a passion for nature. Even those without an outdoorsy streak will leave utterly changed after gazing upon Iceland's volcanoes, glaciers, waterfalls, and sweeping hills. On this 6-day trip, you'll use your time to take in as many of Iceland's iconic vistas as possible. A tour along the world-famous Golden Circle to see geysers and a national park, a visit to a lagoon filled with icebergs, a day on the coast to see black sand beaches... each day provides a new, jaw-dropping adventure that will leave you in awe of Mother Nature's artistry. Don't miss out on this transformative trip!

Day 1
Welcome to Iceland!

Embark on your Icelandic adventure as you touch down in Reykjavik. It may be the country's capital city, but it has a quiet, tranquil charm that captures the laidback spirit of Iceland. A private group transfer whisks you away from the airport to the welcoming embrace of your hotel, your home away from home for the next few nights. After settling in and getting acquainted with your surroundings, the evening offers leisure time to explore Reykjavik's charming streets or opt for an excursion to the nearby Sky Lagoon (additional cost), where you can soak in the soothing waters and admire the twilight hues. Later, delight in a delectable dinner at your leisure, soaking in the anticipation of the days ahead.

Day 2
The three wonders of the Golden Circle

Fuel up with a hearty breakfast before setting off on the renowned Golden Circle tour. This sightseeing circuit consists of three main locations: the geothermal area of Geysir, the gargantuan Gullfoss waterfall plunging into a rugged canyon, and Thingvellir National Park, where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet. After a full morning soaking up these legendary locations, return to your accommodation for a relaxing afternoon, reflecting on the enchanting sights witnessed throughout the day.

But the fun isn’t over yet! Long after the sun sets, head out in search of the Northern Lights! Please note: This activity is subject to weather and climate conditions. In case it's not possible, the operator will try to do it again over the next available day.

Day 3
Take a trip to the moody aesthetics of the South Coast

It's time to bid farewell to Reykjavik... for a short bit. In the morning, we will check out of our hotel and embark on a journey along the captivating South Coast, adorned with some of the country's most captivating natural wonders including the thunderous cascades of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls where visitors can walk behind the shimmering veil of water. Additionally, the stunning black sand beaches of Reynisfjara, with their towering basalt columns and crashing Atlantic waves, offer a dramatic backdrop for an unforgettable Icelandic experience. After the tour, we will arrive at our rustic hotel nestled amidst Iceland's rugged terrain. With the afternoon at your disposal, you're free to explore the area's hiking trails, immerse yourself in the local culture, or simply unwind amidst the tranquil surroundings.

Day 4
Lush canyons and icy lagoons en route to Reykjavik

We are heading back to Reykjavik today, but there's plenty to see along the way! Traverse the rugged beauty of Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon, a hidden gem boasting stunning vistas and lush greenery, before continuing to the otherworldly Eldhraun lava field, where moss-covered lava stretches as far as the eye can see. Continue your journey to the breathtaking Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, where shimmering icebergs glisten against the black sand shoreline. Upon your return to the hotel, settle into the cozy ambiance once more and enjoy being back in the city.

Day 5
Visit the scenic and charming Snæfellsnes Peninsula

Indulge in a leisurely breakfast before embarking on a captivating tour of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. You will be surrounded by beauty, from the iconic Snæfellsjökull volcano to the picturesque fishing villages dotted along the coastline. As you traverse the peninsula's winding roads, soak in panoramic views of towering cliffs, hidden waterfalls, and sweeping vistas. Return to Reykjavik in the afternoon, where you can choose to explore the city further or opt for another optional visit to the Sky Lagoon for a rejuvenating soak (additional cost). Conclude your day with a delightful dinner, reminiscing about the unforgettable moments shared throughout your journey and savoring the last tastes of Icelandic cuisine.

Day 6
Bid farewell to the Land of Fire and Ice

We have reached the end of our Icelandic itinerary! Sit down for a final breakfast in the Land of Fire and Ice before bidding farewell to Reykjavik. With time for one last adventure, consider an optional trip to the famed Blue Lagoon to unwind amidst its soothing waters (additional cost, see add-ons below) or take a leisurely stroll through Reykjavik's charming streets, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. A private group transfer then awaits to escort you to the airport, marking the end of your Icelandic odyssey filled with cherished memories and unforgettable experiences.
