Day 1

Kon'nichiwa and welcome to Japan – Kyoto is calling your name!

-Touch down in the vibrant city of Kyoto – a true cultural playground where the old world meets the new. Make your way to the hotel and get settled.

-In the early evening, you’ll transfer to a local restaurant for a welcome party, complete with a delectable dinner featuring traditional Japanese cuisine.

-As the evening winds down, you'll return to your hotel, ready to rest and recharge for the adventures that await in this historic and culturally rich city.

For the welcome dinner, wear any solid color of your choice! If you've got purple, wear purple bc obviously it's the DOTC color.

Day 2

Explore Kyoto through a tea ceremony, traditional lunch, and sightseeing at Fushimi Inari and Kawara-machi

-Are you ready to see what Kyoto has to offer? After a delightful breakfast at your hotel, you'll be picked up and whisked away to see the cultural treasures of the city. Your first stop is a traditional tea ceremony, where you'll experience the serene and meticulous art of Japanese tea preparation and consumption.

-From here, you'll transfer to a nearby restaurant for a sumptuous Washoku lunch. Washoku, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, emphasizes seasonal ingredients, harmonious presentation, and a deep connection to nature.

-The afternoon brings you to the iconic Fushimi Inari Temple. Famous for its thousands of vibrant red torii gates, this shrine dedicated to the Shinto god of rice and agriculture offers a mystical experience as you wander through its winding pathways.

-You’ll transfer back to the hotel with time to freshen up, then head back out to Kawara-machi. Here, you'll have free time to explore this bustling district, known for its mix of traditional and modern attractions, including shopping, entertainment, and a variety of dining options to suit any palate. Enjoy a leisurely dinner on your own, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of Kyoto by night.

Day 3

Discover more of Kyoto: Kimonos, temples, food, and forests!

-Another morning in Kyoto greets us with breakfast at the hotel and a day of exploration. Your first stop today – Sagano-Kan, where you'll step into the elegance of traditional Japan by dressing in a kimono.

-Adorned in your beautiful attire, you will enjoy lunch, a unique culinary experience at Kiyomizu Junsei Okabe, featuring Yudofu, a traditional Kyoto dish made from delicate tofu.

-You'll then visit the iconic Kiyomizu Temple, where you can admire the stunning architecture and panoramic views of Kyoto from its famous wooden stage.

-In the afternoon, you'll explore the scenic Arashiyama district. Wander through the enchanting bamboo groves, visit the historic Tenryu-ji Temple, and enjoy the picturesque views of the Togetsukyo Bridge and surrounding mountains.

-After your explorations, you'll return your kimono head back to the hotel. Load your larger luggage onto a truck at 17:45, ensuring a hassle-free travel experience tomorrow.

-Enjoy the rest of your evening with free time to explore the area.

Day 4

Hang with the deer in Nara before making your way to vibrant Osaka

-Today, we’re saying goodbye to Kyoto and hello to two other major locations in Japan, starting with Nara. Here, you'll have the delightful experience of feeding the friendly deer that freely roam the park, a unique and memorable activity that highlights the harmonious relationship between nature and urban life in Japan.

-Refuel with a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, before transferring to Osaka. Here, we’re set to explore the iconic Osaka Castle. This historic landmark, with its impressive architecture and rich history, offers a fascinating glimpse into Japan's feudal past.

-In the early evening, we’ll drop our bags at the hotel, then set out for a sumptuous local dinner, choosing between the iconic dishes of ramen or sushi, both of which are integral parts of Japanese culinary culture. Savor the experience, then get a great night’s rest for tomorrow’s adventures – they promise more great food, excitement, and fun!

Day 5

Take the ropeway over the Owakudani Valley before spending the night in Hakoke where an Enkai dinner party awaits!

-Begin your final day in Osaka with a satisfying breakfast before checking out of your hotel. From here, you’ll head to Osaka Station and travel to Odawara.

-Arrive at Sounzan Station, where you'll embark on a scenic ropeway ride. This experience provides breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes and leads you to Owakudani, a volcanic valley known for its steaming vents and picturesque views.

-Once you arrive at Togendai Station, you’ll transfer to a traditional Ryokan in Hakone. This authentic Japanese inn offers a serene and immersive cultural experience, complete with tatami mat rooms and soothing hot springs.

-After the sun sets, participate in a lively Japanese party, known as an Enkai, featuring a sumptuous dinner. This festive meal is a wonderful opportunity to indulge in traditional Japanese dishes and experience the warm hospitality of your hosts.

Day 6

Immerse yourself in Arakurayama Asama Park before arriving at your final Japanese destination – Tokyo!

-Enjoy breakfast at the Ryokan before checking out and cruising to Arakurayama Asama Park. This park is famous for its breathtaking views of Mount Fuji, framed perfectly by cherry blossoms in spring or vibrant autumn foliage, making it an ideal spot for stunning photographs and a peaceful walk.

-Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, savoring regional delicacies and the fresh flavors of Japanese cuisine. This meal offers a chance to relax and refuel before the next leg of your journey.

-After lunch, you'll transfer to Tokyo and check in at your hotel in the bustling metropolis. Take some time to refresh before we leave once more.

-The rest of the evening is yours to enjoy Tokyo your way - don't hesitate to ask your local guide for suggestions!

Day 7

Choose your own adventures with a free day in Tokyo before an epic farewell celebration!

-It’s our last full day in Japan – let’s make it the best it can be! You have the entire day at leisure to enjoy the city at your own pace. Consider a visit to Toyosu Market, head to the Imperial Palace, visit the Tokyo Skytree, or check out trendy districts like Shibuya or Harajuku.

-At 17:00, meet your group at Asakusa Sensoji Temple, ready for the evening's festivities. Tonight, you'll enjoy a memorable farewell party on the Yakata ship Harumiya. This traditional Japanese boat cruise offers stunning views of Tokyo's illuminated skyline as you dine on exquisite cuisine, celebrating the end of an incredible journey.

For the farewell dinner, please wear all black, and come dressed to the nines if you can pack it!

Day 8

Sayōnara Japan! It’s time to head home…

-Can you believe it’s already been 7 full days in this incredible country? That means it’s time to pack up and head home. Conclude your remarkable journey with a final breakfast at your accommodation, savoring the flavors and reflecting on the incredible experiences you've had.

-After breakfast, check out of your hotel, ensuring all your belongings are packed and ready for your departure. Take a moment to appreciate the cultural richness, scenic beauty, and warm hospitality you've encountered throughout your travels in Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Hakone, and Tokyo.
