Salam! Welcome to Casablanca, Morocco’s cosmopolitan epicenter and coastal city that’s waiting to be explored! Upon arrival, your guide will take you to visit the stunning Hassan II Mosque and Rick’s Cafe, the restaurant that was the inspiration for the 1942 film Casablanca. After snapping a few pics, we’ll get checked in at the hostel and make our way to Les Fleurs, an authentic Moroccan restaurant for our welcome dinner. Eat some traditional dishes and toast to a stellar adventure ahead!
Today, we’ll make our way to Tangier, stopping for a night in the seaside town of Assilah. Known for its street art and mural paintings, this is the place to take all the pics you can! Enjoy a free day on the shoreline, walk through the colorful streets, visit a few museums, or eat your way through the medina protected by 15th-century gates and ramparts. Choose your own adventure and let the day unfold as it may!
Rise and shine, travelers! After a relaxing day in Assilah, we’ll pack up and head to Tangier, a port city on the Strait of Gibraltar, known for its diverse cultural intersections and connection to many famous artists, authors, and poets. We’ll take a city tour with a local guide and check out the Medina, the American Legation Museum, and the Kasbah.
After a break for lunch, our guide will take us to Cape Spartel to learn its ancient history and explore the Caves of Hercules. Legend has it that this was the place Hercules rested before stealing the golden apples from the Garden of the Hesperides. Walk through the underground caverns to the shoreline and snap some priceless pictures.
Yesterday was packed full of adventure, and today will be more of the same! We’ll pack up and hit the road, heading to the Rif Mountains for a half-day hike. We’ll eat lunch along the trail and enjoy the beauty of the Akchour Waterfalls with their crystal clear pools. Take a quick dip before we head to Chefchaouen, Morocco’s iconic blue city filled with winding alleys and picturesque backdrops everywhere you turn. Walk the streets and take some Instagram-worthy pics in this magical city.
Today, we journey back to Casablanca, stopping at the Volubilis ruins along the way. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to an ancient Berber city dating back to the 3rd century BC. Explore the property with your guide before checking back into Lhostel, where you can get ready for one last night in Morocco with the group. Live it up before heading home in the morning!
