Originally from Columbus, Ohio, I’ve lived and worked in New York City since 2012, after I graduated from THE Ohio State University with my degree in psychology. My initial reason for moving to NYC was to work in the fashion industry, and after a few gigs at magazines and fashion PR agencies, I knew it wasn’t the right fit for me.

I first discovered yoga on a blind date during my first year living in New York City, in 2012. While no second date commenced, I recognized that this powerful practice was something I felt drawn to explore further, and was a force that helped me cope with my stressful day job as well as my body image. On the yoga mat, I felt connected, inspired, strong and embodied - I knew I wanted to spend as much time practicing as I possibly could.

As the years progressed, what had initially been a hobby turned into a way of living - and I knew that I needed to explore yoga as a career path. I decided to do my 200 hour yoga teacher training at Pure Yoga, under the tutelage of Kay Kay Clivio, Adam Vitolo, and Yogi Charu. I went on to complete mentorships with Kiley Holliday and Brittany Anderson, and am now studying yoga therapy under Dana Slamp.

My greatest goal as a yoga teacher is to give my students an experience that allows them to feel spiritually connected, emotionally inspired, physically challenged, and overall, like they are growing and evolving.

Refuel with a wholesome breakfast, shared with your fellow retreat-goers, as you prepare for an unforgettable adventure ahead.

Today's highlight is a Palomino River tubing experience, a truly unique and relaxing way to connect with the enchanting natural surroundings. Travel up the Palomino River, then immerse yourself in the gentle embrace of its crystal-clear waters as you float downstream on an inflated inner tube. As you drift along, marvel at the tropical rainforest around you, teeming with exotic birds and lush vegetation, while the pristine Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains create an awe-inspiring backdrop. After your river tubing adventure, satisfy your appetite with a delicious lunch and enjoy some free time to relax, explore, or simply bask in the tranquility of your surroundings.

As the day draws to a close, gather for our alignment foundations class — discover ways to improve your practice. From here, we’ll come together for a delightful dinner with your group and prepare for another great day in Colombia.

Day 4

Embracing Ancestral Wisdom & Strength: Yoga, medicinal plant workshop, and headstand/forearm stand workshop

Greet the day with a rejuvenating morning yoga session, cultivating inner strength and harmony as you prepare for another day of exploration and self-discovery. Refuel your body with a nutritious breakfast, surrounded by the warmth and camaraderie of your fellow retreat-goers.

Today, we'll delve into the rich ancestral knowledge of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta during an enlightening medicinal plants workshop. Discover the healing power of the region's diverse plants, leaves, stems, and roots, which have been traditionally used by the Kogi and Arhuaco indigenous people to prevent, heal, or cure physical, mental, and spiritual ailments. The lush jungle surrounding the retreat boasts a privileged biodiversity, offering an abundance of plants rich in minerals and natural compounds that can improve your quality of life. Learn how the indigenous techniques, combined with the gifts of nature, can heal pain, cleanse energy, and attract positivity for the present and future.

After the workshop, join your group for a delectable lunch, followed by free time to relax, reflect, or continue exploring the stunning natural environment. Later, we'll gather for a headstand/forearm stand workshop — an exercise in balance and strength. With a sense of achievement, we will then close out the night with a peaceful group dinner.

Day 5

Connecting with Ancestral Spirits: Yoga, Kogui community visit, and embracing inner harmony

Awake to jungle sounds and a special day of activities that will begin with breakfast. After, we’re off to a truly unique cultural experience. With the help of our guide, we’ll embark on a journey to the Mulkwakungui Kogui settlement, nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. This remarkable region is home to a harmonious blend of indigenous communities, including the Kogui, Arhuaco, and Wiwa, all of whom preserve their rich cultural traditions. As you drive along the coast and ascend the verdant hills, marvel at the breathtaking views of the tropical jungle and the Buritaca River Valley. Upon reaching the indigenous settlement, you'll cross the river and prepare to meet the Mamo, the spiritual leader of the Mulkwakungui community.

Before entering the village, the Mamo will cleanse your spirits, granting you permission to visit their sacred space. Here, you'll partake in a profound spiritual ritual, connecting with the indigenous ancestors and Mother Earth around a central fireplace. Accompanied by several Kogui representatives, you'll experience the power of coca leaf tea, which the Mamo will use to invoke focus and concentration, helping you release negative energy and achieve emotional balance.

Following the transformative session, share a traditional lunch with the indigenous community, savoring the flavors and tranquility of this idyllic setting surrounded by lush tropical nature. Afterward, return to the retreat for some free time to reflect on the day's experiences.

Later, join your group for a deeply relaxing guided meditation and gentle stretching session designed to guide you into a state of calm. Finally, gather for a delectable dinner, sharing insights and stories from your unforgettable day of cultural immersion and spiritual connection in the heart of Colombia's Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

Day 6

Tropical Bliss and Ancient Wonders: Yoga, Tayrona National Park adventure, and unwinding along the coastline

Today marks the last full day of our transformational retreat, and we want to ensure it’s the best it can be. Enjoy a hearty breakfast with your fellow retreat-goers before embarking on a remarkable day-trip to the renowned Tayrona National Park.

Tayrona National Park, with its pristine white sandy beaches, rugged atolls, and lush tropical forests, is truly one of Colombia's most awe-inspiring destinations. The park's crystal blue waters of the Caribbean Sea further accentuate its stunning beauty. Tayrona offers a variety of trails winding through the rainforest and archaeological sites, shedding light on the significance of pre-Columbian cultures.

Your journey begins with a hike from Canaveral, traversing the tropical forest and picturesque beaches en route to Arrecifes. The adventure continues as you explore the paradise-like beaches of Arenillas, Piscina, and Cabo San Juan, where you'll have ample time to take a refreshing swim in the azure sea. After a day of exploration, enjoy a well-earned lunch and some free time to relax or further immerse yourself in the natural wonders of Tayrona National Park.

As the day winds down, return to the retreat for a soothing slow flow session and a closing circle to mark the final evening of our time together. As the day concludes, gather with your group for a farewell dinner, sharing stories and highlights from your extraordinary time here in Colombia. Reflect on all that you’ve learned, released, and are manifesting in the days and months to come.

Day 7

Farewell to Colombia: Morning reflections, gratitude, and departure

As your unforgettable wellness retreat in Colombia comes to a close, gather with your fellow retreat-goers for breakfast. Reflect on the transformative experiences you've shared, the connections you've made, and the personal growth you've achieved during this life-changing journey.
