-Touch down at Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José – your gateway to the adventure ahead. Meet up with your guide and fellow travelers for a group transfer to the Arenal Paraíso Resort & Spa. Nestled at the foot of the iconic Arenal Volcano, the resort offers breathtaking views and a chance to soak in natural hot springs.
-After checking in, take some free time to explore. Wander through lush tropical gardens, spot exotic wildlife, or just kick back and relax by the pools.
-As the sun sets, gather with your new travel squad for dinner. Swap stories and get stoked for the unforgettable experiences that await you in this lush paradise.
-Kick off your morning with a delicious breakfast at the resort – you're gonna need the energy!
-First up, we're visiting the stunning La Fortuna Waterfall. This 70-meter-high cascade is more than just a pretty sight; it's a community treasure nestled within a 210-hectare biological reserve that's part of Arenal Volcano National Park. Brace yourself for a descent down 530 steps, but trust us, the journey is worth it. At the bottom, dive into the crystal-clear waters of the Fortuna River for a refreshing swim and snap some epic photos from the spacious viewpoint.
-Next, we'll head to Arenal 1968 Mirador Park for an unforgettable hike. Explore self-guided trails that wind through lush flora and fauna, tracing the old lava flows from the volcano's dramatic 1968 eruption. Reach the viewpoint, and with a bit of luck, you'll score a breathtaking view of the majestic Arenal Volcano looming right in front of you.
-We'll return to the resort in the late afternoon. Rest up – tomorrow's another day packed with adventure!
-Start your morning with a hearty breakfast at the resort – fuel up, because today is all about thrills!
-Take to the skies with an epic ziplining adventure. Soar over the lush rainforest canopy, catching panoramic views of the Arenal Volcano and the vibrant ecosystem below. Feel the wind in your hair as you glide from platform to platform – it's an unforgettable way to experience the jungle.
-Next up, we're hitting the Balsa River for some whitewater rafting action. Tackle Class II and III rapids as you navigate through stunning tropical scenery. Keep an eye out for wildlife like monkeys and exotic birds along the riverbanks. Don't worry if you're new to rafting; our expert guides will make sure everyone stays safe while having a blast.
-After all that excitement, we'll stop at a private restaurant to indulge in a traditional Costa Rican lunch. Enjoy authentic dishes that highlight the rich flavors and culinary traditions of the region.
-Head back to the resort for some well-deserved relaxation. The evening is yours to unwind – maybe take a dip in the pool or explore the local area.
-After a hearty breakfast, we're embarking on a unique canyoning excursion, the only one in the area featuring evacuation exits on every platform for added safety and peace of mind. The tour includes five exhilarating descents: three down cascading waterfalls, one along a rugged wall, and a controlled free fall that'll get your heart racing. With walls supporting most descents (except the free fall), it's perfect for building confidence, even if it's your first time. The adventure kicks off with a 300-meter trail and wraps up with a 450-meter trail, immersing you in the stunning natural beauty of the canyon. Our team of internationally trained professionals – who renew their licenses annually – will guide you every step of the way, ensuring a safe and unforgettable experience. Midway through, we'll pause to enjoy a delicious lunch included in the excursion.
-After conquering the canyon, we'll head back to the resort. The evening is yours to relax, share stories from the day, or explore more of the local scene.
-Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the resort – today is all about you! With a free day ahead, the possibilities are endless.
-As the sun sets, we'll reunite for a memorable farewell dinner at the resort’s open-air restaurant. Here, you'll savor a mix of Costa Rican and international dishes. Think grilled beef, chicken, and shrimp skillets flambéed right at your table, filet mignon, or tilapia stuffed with shrimp in avocado sauce. Soft instrumental music adds to the ambiance, and during high season, live local musicians often perform on weekends. It's the perfect setting to reflect on your journey and toast to new friendships and unforgettable memories.
-Savor your final morning in paradise with a delicious breakfast at the resort.
-After checking out, we'll gather for our group transfer back to Juan Santamaría International Airport.
-From ziplining through the rainforest canopy to rafting wild rivers and exploring hidden waterfalls, you've lived the Costa Rican dream. Though our journey ends here, the memories and stories will stick with you forever. Safe travels, and until next time – ¡Pura Vida!
