-After you touch down in vibrant Lima at Jorge Chávez International Airport, you’ll kick off your Peruvian adventure with a group transfer to your charming accommodations. This is your first chance to get to know the group and soak up the amazing atmosphere.
-Once you arrive at the hotel, take some time to check in and settle into your space, preparing for the adventures to come.
-Experience a breathtaking gourmet dinner by the iconic Huaca Pucllana pyramid tonight. This unforgettable setting pairs world-class Peruvian cuisine with the magical ambiance of an ancient archaeological wonder. You’ll be served a side of picture-perfect views with your delectable meal.
-Begin your day with a bite to eat at the hotel before we head out to get to know the city!
-Bask in culture and gastronomy on a stroll across Lima's downtown. The escapade begins with a traditional Peruvian breakfast called pan con chicharron. Then, you will visit an enchanting Franciscan monastery and a mesmerizing colonial house that dates back to the 16th century to take a glance at the lifestyle of colonial times. Afterwards, witness the ceremonious Presidential Palace’s change of guard, as you stroll by Lima's Main Square and Cathedral. Walking along Jirón de la Unión, one of Lima's most commercial streets, you'll arrive at San Martín Square, home to some of the best pisco sours in Peru. We’ll stop to sip and unwind before continuing on our way.
-Before diving into Museo Larco, we will have lunch at the nearby Cafe del Museo and share reflections on all the bites we have had thus far.
-Marvel at the impressive collection of Museo Larco. Since 1926, the museum has lived inside a viceregal hacienda that dates back to the 18th century. The museum covers five-thousand years of Peruvian history, from the beginning of Andean civilization to Incan times. Understand the cosmovision and philosophy of ancient Peruvians through these invaluable art pieces.
-Return to the hotel to unwind or make it a night to remember with an optional Nikkei dinner at Osaka restaurant, where Japanese and Peruvian flavors come together in a culinary masterpiece (see add-ons).
-Indulge in one more Lima breakfast before we check out and continue on our path of discovery.
-This morning, we will explore the Miraflores & Bohemian districts of the city. The ample piers and modern architecture of Miraflores are a love letter to the ocean, and its butifarras and churros are one for our bellies. Then we’ll head to Barranco, the bohemian heart of Lima. This district is home to the most prominent art galleries, cultural bars, and live music shows. Its neighborhoods, facing the Pacific Ocean, preserve the enticing allure of architecture dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. Your local host will guide you around the main square, the pier and its awe-inspiring view, across the famous Puente de los Suspiros (Bridge of Sighs), craft shops, and other worthwhile visits. Here you’ll taste traditional anticuchos and a Peruvian specialty coffee, among other treats.
-Lunch is served at Isidro Bistró Limeño today. This popular restaurant is an homage to the soul and flavors of the taverns of once upon a time, Peruvian home cooking, and the recipes that live on in old notebooks. Enjoy a delightful spread of Peru’s most traditional preparations in plentiful portions, great for sharing so you can try as much as possible!
-Once we finish lunch, it’s time to head to the airport and onto our next destination, Cusco – a group transfer and short flight are all that separate us!
-Once we touch down at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ), we will be transferred to our hotel in the Sacred Valley, a gorgeous and storied part of the country that hosts some of the world’s most iconic sights.
-From here, the rest of our evening is free to do as we please. Try a nearby restaurant that tickles your fancy, explore our hotel, and start plotting what treats to try throughout the rest of our time together!
-Wake up for another day of flavorful fun! Breakfast begins our day before venturing out.
-In the company of your private tour guide, visit the mind-boggling circular terraces of Moray, built for agricultural experimentation. Afterward, you will head to the Maras salt flats, where you’ll stand in awe of the totally unique landscape before you. To this day, local families continue to extract and sell this salt.
-We will settle in for lunch afterwards at UNU Restaurant. Located in the Sacred Valley, the restaurant UNU serves as a culinary refuge where ancient traditions intertwine with modern innovation. Set amidst the Andean landscape, this gastronomic gem invites diners to embark on a culinary journey inspired by the region's vibrant cultural heritage. The cozy and warm atmosphere of the restaurant reflects the natural splendor that surrounds it, offering guests a serene setting to let the enjoyment linger in every bite.
-We’ll then head back to our resort, and the night is free for your own culinary adventures and relaxation. Or, you might opt for dinner at Biga, a new spot in town for pizza and pasta lovers alike (see add-ons).
-Wake up and enjoy a hearty breakfast before we check out of our hotel today, because it’s finally time for our highly-anticipated visit to Machu Picchu!
-A 1.5 hour ride by train and 30 minute bus ride are all it takes to arrive at the citadel for a guided visit that lasts about three hours. Enjoy the stunning views and learn about the Andean living and traditions.
-We will take the shuttle to Aguas Calientes and stop here to eat lunch. Take some time to indulge and relax as we unwind after an action-packed day with delicious bites and cool bevs.
-Once we are done, we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo and then be whisked away to our final hotel, this time in Cusco. Upon arrival and check in, tonight is all yours for whatever tickles your fancy – more bites, more sights, or both? It’s your choice!
-Breakfast begins our final full day of fun!
-Today’s schedule is no schedule at all – enjoy Cusco however you wish! Check out some excursions we have chosen to give you some ideas (see add-ons).
-We will come back together for a farewell meal, sharing our final gourmet dinner and stories of our time spent in Peru, informed by all of our senses. Enjoy!
-Our journey home begins this morning with farewells over our last delightful breakfast here together in South America. Share contact info and memories as we check out and head to Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ) via group transfer.
