Day 1

Welcome to Peru – your Inca journey through the Sacred Valley begins now with a full-day tour

Welcome to Peru! Your arrival day in Cusco marks the beginning of an unforgettable adventure. Upon landing, you'll join your group for a transfer from the airport to the enchanting Sacred Valley – the cradle of the Inca civilization. The day's excitement starts with a visit to the Pisac Andean Market, a bustling hub where locals gather to trade agricultural products and handicrafts, offering you a fascinating glimpse into the region's culture. From here, we’ll head to Awanacancha, where you'll encounter Andean camelids, such as llamas, alpacas, vicunas, and guanacos. Observe as locals demonstrate traditional weaving and dyeing techniques, preserving their rich textile heritage.

We’ll break for lunch at the picturesque Wayra Restaurant, set amidst the lush surroundings of a Sacred Valley ranch, where you'll also be treated to a mesmerizing Paso horse show. Savor the flavors of Peru before traveling to our last stop of the day – Ollantaytambo. Explore the magnificent Ollantaytambo Ruins, named after a brave warrior who fell in love with an Inca princess. Marvel at the elegant stone walls of Hanan Huacaypata, an exceptionally well-preserved site in the heart of the Sacred Valley.

As the day winds down, check-in at the luxurious Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba to unwind and rejuvenate before enjoying a free evening. Dinner is not included in the tour package, allowing you the freedom to choose your own culinary experience.

Please note: The order of today’s itinerary is subject to change.

Day 2

Immerse yourself in the local culture with a day-trip to the Chichubamba community

Embark on a captivating day of exploration and cultural immersion in the beautiful Peruvian countryside. Begin your morning with a delicious breakfast, fueling you for a day of discovery as you visit the charming Chichubamba community. This thriving community of 180 families is nestled near Urubamba surrounded by lush, green landscapes. The people of Chichubamba rely primarily on agricultural activities, complemented by raising guinea pigs, bees, and producing handicrafts such as pottery.

As proud heirs of a rich cultural legacy, the community members are eager to share their traditions, myths, and legends with you. Delve into their unique way of life by participating in hands-on activities, including ceramics, artisanal chocolate production, beekeeping and honey extraction, and learning about the preparation of chicha de jora, a traditional corn-based beverage. Savor the opportunity to taste their local products and take home a cherished souvenir from your experience. A delicious lunch, prepared by the community, is included in your day's activities.

In the afternoon, return to your hotel to enjoy some free time, allowing you to unwind and reflect on the day's unforgettable experiences. Grab dinner with your group and watch the sunset over the mountains of the valley.

Day 3

Journey to the sacred Inca citadel of Machu Picchu for an overnight excursion, and tour the ancient grounds with a local guide

Today, we have a very early start. As we won't have time for breakfast before checking out, there will be some fruit, juice, and cookies to grab before departure. Beforehand, you will leave your luggage at the hotel and pack an overnight bag for the thrilling journey ahead.

A private transfer will whisk you away from the hotel to Ollantaytambo station, where you'll embark on the breathtaking Voyager train ride to Aguas Calientes. Relax in comfortable seats with panoramic windows, savoring the stunning landscape en route to Machu Picchu.

Once you arrive in Aguas Calientes, meet your local, English-speaking guide for a full-day excursion to the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu. Travel by shared bus from Aguas Calientes to the ancient citadel, and explore the extraordinary architecture and sacred temples with your knowledgeable guide during a three-hour tour. Discover the agricultural and urban areas of this incredible site, which has been declared a Peruvian Historical Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

After your tour, savor a buffet lunch at Tinkuy restaurant before checking into your next hotel. Conclude your magical day with a delicious dinner on site, reminiscing about your once-in-a-lifetime experience at the majestic Machu Picchu.

ALTERNATIVE: The above is an early-start version of the tour. If you prefer, you can choose an alternative schedule where you will take the train leaving at 11:51 am, arrive at Aguas Calientes at 12:41 pm, have lunch at Tinkuy restaurant upon arrival, and start the Machu Picchu tour at about 2 pm.

Day 4

Travel back to Cusco, and enjoy a variety of local dishes and a relaxing yoga session

Wake up to a delightful breakfast before checking out of your accommodation, and prepare for another exhilarating day in Peru. Board the Voyager train at 8:30 am for a scenic ride back to Ollantaytambo, arriving at 10:10 am. Along the way, enjoy the comfortable seating and panoramic windows, showcasing the stunning landscapes of the region.

Upon arrival, a guide will accompany your group from the train station to the vibrant city of Cusco. Savor a delectable à la carte lunch at Limo Restaurant, where you can indulge in exquisite Peruvian flavors and take in the lively atmosphere. Following lunch, walk to the hotel (located about a 10-minute walk away from the restaurant) and settle into your new surroundings. We’ll rejuvenate your body and mind with a calming yoga session, perfect for unwinding after a day of travel.

As evening approaches, delight in a scrumptious dinner at the renowned MAP Cafe, where you can experience exceptional Peruvian cuisine in a unique and inviting atmosphere. This enchanting day in Peru, filled with breathtaking views, delectable dining, and rejuvenating experiences, is sure to leave you with lasting memories and an eagerness to explore even more of this captivating country.

Day 5

Spend your last full day in Peru immersed in the local food, history, and traditions

Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a delightful culinary adventure at the San Pedro Market. After visiting the market, we will then make our way to a cooking studio for a hands-on cooking class guided by a professional Peruvian chef. As you explore the diverse and vibrant ingredients of Peru's eight natural regions, prepare and savor a four-course tasting menu, complete with the famous Pisco Sour, all while you immerse yourself in the colorful and unique atmosphere of San Pedro Market.

After your mouth-watering experience (which will start at 9 am and end at 1 pm), we'll then set off for a half-day city tour of enchanting Cusco. Discover the city's fascinating Inca and colonial history as you visit the main square, Huacaypata, and admire the magnificent cathedral. Explore Koricancha and the Convent of Santo Domingo, built atop the most important Inca temple dedicated to the sun god Inti. Wander the streets of this ancient capital, feeling a connection to the past.

We’ll close out our day of immersion by participating in a Payment to the Earth ceremony, which shows gratitude for Mother Nature's abundant gifts and allows you to harmonize with the natural energy connecting all living things on Earth. This ritual invites the Apus (sacred mountain deities) to cleanse, balance, and guide us, and includes offerings of Andean food, sweets, herbs, and wool.

Return to your hotel to unwind before enjoying an evening of leisure, where you can choose your own adventure for one last dinner. This day, rich in cultural experiences, culinary delights, and the captivating beauty of Cusco, promises to be an unforgettable part of your Peruvian adventure.
