Welcome to Seville, southern Spain’s largest city, said to be built by Hercules himself. Famous for its flamenco dancing, glorious cuisine and fabulous architecture, Seville is a cultural delight for all Spanish adventurers, with a vibrant, bustling nightlife. Once you’ve checked out of the airport, grab a bus or taxi to your hostel and start exploring the city. Situated on the River Guadalquivir, there’s a picturesque old town full of cobbled streets, winding paths and open green spaces, perfect for unwinding. Suitably refreshed, get ready for your welcome dinner and prepare to taste one of Spain’s most famous culinary exports: tapas! This is a banquet of small dishes, so you’ll get to enjoy an array of local treats, best washed down with a glass of Rioja.
Wake up to the first day proper on your Seville adventure. After a bite to eat, it’s time to get to know the city, segway-style. These two-wheeled standing vehicles are a delightful way to glide around and enjoy the city’s highlights. You’ll take in the Plaza Espana and Alameda de Hércules, two of Seville’s majestic public spaces, before seeing the Teatro Lope de Vega theater and exploring the city streets. Next up, you’ll take in a tour to the Museum of Fine Art, home to many Renaissance and baroque masterpieces, before getting your energy back during a lunch break. Now you’ve gotten a taste for this lovely city, you can spend the rest of your free afternoon sightseeing at your leisure. The city is a great place to explore on foot!
Buenos días! Today, you’ll get to visit one of the most iconic buildings in the whole city: the Seville Cathedral. Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, this magnificent building dates back to 1506 and took 105 years to build. Once you see the size of it, combined with its intricate carving and beautiful courtyard, you’ll soon understand why! An incredible 11,520 square meters, the building is the world’s third-largest church and the biggest one built in a Gothic style. You’ll also find the tomb of famous Italian explorer Christopher Columbus within its many highlights. Grab some rest in the afternoon and prepare yourself for a night with real Spanish flavor — flamenco! You’ll see some of Seville’s finest flamenco dancers perform live, accompanied by Spanish guitar, dinner and drinks. Nothing is quite so Spanish as this traditional dance, and you’ll be treated to one of the most rousing experiences you've ever seen.
With the sound of flamenco still ringing in your ears, you’ll take a tour to the Plaza de Toros bullring this morning. Bullfighting is a controversial event these days and this tour focuses on the historical aspect of a shrinking tradition, dating back over 1,000 years. You’ll be amazed as you walk out into the arena, and get to hear all about the history of the ring, including a tour around the museum and chapel. Grab a bite to eat in the afternoon and meet up for a guided bar crawl! With so many great places to party the night away, you’ll be introduced to some of Seville’s finest hotspots. Entrances and a few free drinks will be included throughout the bar crawl; be sure to make the most of it!
Prepare yourself to experience royalty, Spanish-style! Today you’ll head to the Real Alcazar, one of the world’s oldest palaces and an architectural delight. One of the country’s most beautiful buildings, you’ll see a fusion of styles from Islamic art to Gothic and Moorish, reflecting the diverse history of Seville. You’ll also be able to tour the exotic gardens, a peaceful world away from the bustling city just outside. Enjoy your last afternoon in the city — perhaps do a little shopping to snap up some suitably-Spanish souvenirs. Come evening, we'll invite you to a very special rooftop paella demonstration. Prepare to have your taste buds tantalized with this hands-on cooking showcase, as you learn all the secrets of this amazing dish, accompanied by a wonderful vista across the city. You’ll also get to make sangria, a sweet mix of wine and fruit — the perfect beverage to accompany your paella feast!
All great things must come to an end, and it’s time to say goodbye. Enjoy one last Spanish breakfast before heading to the airport and get planning your next adventure. Hasta pronto — see you soon!
