Explore biodiversity at Jozani Forest and immerse in Maasai culture at a Maasai village
-After breakfast, set off to Jozani Forest, a lush sanctuary filled with unique flora and fauna, including the rare and endangered Red Colobus monkeys that swing playfully through the trees.
-Head to a Maasai village for a cultural immersion experience. Engage with Maasai warriors, learn about their age-old customs, traditional attire, and legendary dances.
-For lunch, we head to the renowned Rock Restaurant. Perched on a rock in the Indian Ocean, this unique dining spot offers not just a meal but an experience. Note: this meal is at your own expense.
-After a fulfilling day, return to your accommodation to relax and enjoy the evening.
Day 3 · September 30, 2025
Experience a day of wildlife marvels at Mikumi National Park
-Set off early with an exciting day trip to Mikumi National Park! After a hearty breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport for a scenic flight over Tanzania’s landscapes, arriving at Mikumi after about an hour.
-We'll be welcomed by a local safari guide who will then lead us on a full-day game drive. Encounter majestic elephants, towering giraffes, herds of zebra, lions lazing in the sun, and more as you traverse this incredible park.
-Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by nature before continuing your game drive through the golden savannah.
-As the afternoon light softens, you’ll head back to the airstrip for your return flight to Zanzibar.
-Reflect on this extraordinary day as you head back to your accommodation for a restful evening.
Day 4 · October 1, 2025
Dive into the culture and history of Zanzibar through tours of Stone Town, Prison Island, and a spice farm
-In a day all about delving into the rich culture and history of Zanzibar, our first activity will be a guided tour of Stone Town — a UNESCO World Heritage site.
-Wander through its maze-like streets, uncovering iconic sites such as the House of Wonders, Sultan’s Palace, and Darajani Market. Capture the essence of Zanzibar’s blend of African, Arab, and European influences as you explore these landmarks.
-The explorations continue on Prison Island (Changuu Island). Meet century-old giant tortoises, explore the ruins that once served as a prison and quarantine station, and even enjoy some snorkeling in the island’s crystal-clear waters.
-Return to the mainland for a late-afternoon spice farm tour. Walk through aromatic spice plantations and sample cinnamon, vanilla, and cloves while learning about Zanzibar’s legendary spice trade.
-Return to your accommodation with unforgettable memories and perhaps some spices as souvenirs.
Day 5 · October 2, 2025
Dolphins, snorkeling, and kayaking, then a sunset dhow cruise to close the evening
-Start early with a dolphin tour along the coast, where you’ll have the chance to see these playful creatures in their natural habitat. With some luck, you may even get the opportunity to swim alongside them! Next, dive into a colorful underwater world during a snorkeling session. Explore vibrant coral reefs teeming with tropical fish and marvel at the incredible marine life that calls these waters home. After, take on clear kayaking along the coastline. Glide over the water in a transparent kayak, giving you a front-row view of the underwater beauty beneath.
-In the late afternoon, prepare for an unforgettable sunset dhow cruise. Aboard a traditional sailing vessel, we'll glide along Zanzibar’s coastline while enjoying light refreshments, traditional local music, and a majestic sunset.
Day 6 · October 3, 2025
Spend a day out at sea
-Experience the ultimate marine adventure with the Safari Blue tour. Begin with a sail from Fumba to the Menai Bay Conservation Area, where you’ll have ample opportunities to snorkel in the clear blue waters, discovering vibrant coral reefs and tropical fish. If we're lucky, we might also see dolphins!
-Take a break on a pristine sandbank for swimming and relaxation, followed by a traditional barbecue lunch featuring grilled seafood, tropical fruits, and Zanzibari cuisine (if weather permits).
-Sip on fresh coconut water, explore hidden lagoons, and end the day with a tranquil sail back to shore.
