Hey! I’m Ash, and I’m currently studying at university. I’m a big believer that travel is one of the best forms of education out there and on top of that, it’s great fun! I’m interested in different ecosystems, landscapes and the ways plants, animals and people survive in different environments. I’ve made so many new friends through my travels and I’m looking forward to meeting some like-minded people on this trip to Arizona. Welcome to Vegas, and the beginning of an unforgettable adventure! With a 7:15 am pick-up from the iconic Mirage Hotel & Casino, you’ll have the whole day to explore the great outdoors, passing along the iconic Route 66 road en route. Get ready to dicover one of the seven natural wonders of the world. No matter how many images you’ve seen of the Grand Canyon before, nothing prepares you for a personal experience. The sheer scope of the landscape is immense, and you’ll have ample time to stroll around the rim, take a lengthier hike or simply grab a coffee and enjoy the magnificent views. Relax in one of the rim cafes and enjoy the magnificent sunset before we head to the shores of Lake Powell for an overnight stay.
Wave goodbye to Lake Powell for the day as you head out to possibly the most famous valley in the world: Monument Valley. You’ll recognize the region from photographs and countless films, with Mission Impossible 2, The Lego Movie, and Transformers: Age of Extinction all being filmed there — to name but three! The route follows the path of the Colorado River, cutting through the Painted Desert. Once we’ve arrived, jump on a 4X4 and enjoy a guided tour of the valley in true off-road style! Head back to Lake Powell in the evening and get uploading your photos!
Today we’ll head to the colorful Zion Canyon with its red sandstone cliffs. En route, we'll take a hike to the amazing Horseshoe Bend. This deep-cut canyon forged by the Colorado River is one of the most breathtaking sights you’ll ever witness, and a testament to the true wonder of nature. You'll also have the chance to take in Antelope Canyon before arriving at today's main destination. Once at Zion, you’ll learn about the history of the area and enjoy an introduction to this majestic region on the Arizona border. In the afternoon, you can take a hike wherever you please, from the Emerald Pools to the Temple of Sinawava, the Great White Throne or Weeping Rock. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the Human History Museum before heading home. Upon meeting the bright lights of Vegas, we’ll drop you off at the Mirage Hotel around 7 pm — say goodbye to your new friends and get planning your next adventure!
