Kathleen's yoga classes incorporate tools from her extensive movement and dance background to help students gain mobility, strength, and confidence. Her teaching focuses on sustainable practice and body awareness. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist, and her yoga classes often include elements of guided self-massage that inform the practice. She has experience working with diverse populations, from beginners to professional dancers. She hopes to create spaces for those seeking refuge in self-study through movement and breath, and she believes that observing sensation is the first step in listening to ourselves.
She graduated from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in 2018 with a BFA in Ballet.
She began practicing yoga while dancing in San Francisco and New York and completed her 200-hr teacher training at YogaWorks in Brooklyn. She went on to study Massage Therapy at Orion Institute. In addition to teaching yoga at numerous Brooklyn studios, she has taught dance classes and workshops for Toledo Ballet, the Teens@LINES program at Alonzo King LINES Ballet, ALDEN MOVES Dance Theater, Bay Area Ballet Conservatory, and UCLA Ballet Company.
