Hi, I’m Janine Agoglia, owner of Purple Room Yoga. I have been practicing and teaching Vinyasa yoga since 1995. After 22 years of teaching in studios, I set off on my own and started Purple Room Yoga, Online Yoga Studio in 2021. My mission is to help you Age Gracefully with Strength, Balance, Mobility, and Mindfulness. Purple Room Yoga is the place to learn how to cross-train for life using the practice and wisdom of yoga.
I am dedicated to helping active adults stay active in their lives, whether they are playing with their kids/grandkids, or biking, swimming, running, walking, hiking, playing tennis or golf, or any activity that brings joy. When your body feels stiff or painful, it is difficult to do all of the things you like to do; practicing yoga keeps your body strong and supple so that you can move through your day with ease.

We’re thrilled you’ve chosen to make the journey to Costa Rica to hone your yoga practice and reconnect with nature’s beating heart in the lush landscapes of Cahuita. This charming coastal town located in the Limon Province, known for its laid-back atmosphere, Afro-Caribbean culture, and stunning natural beauty. Situated on the Caribbean coast, Cahuita boasts picturesque white sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and lush tropical rainforests, the perfect place to rest, recharge, and reconnect with the land.
Upon arrival, get settled at your jungle retreat – a truly secluded paradise that was made for relaxation and a whole lot of outdoor activities. You’ll meet your group at a share circle, then kick off the retreat with a delicious welcome dinner. Enjoy the flavors of Costa Rica and get to know your fellow retreaters as the sun sets over the treetops.
Rise and shine with the sun and breathe in the fresh air from the jungle trees, as colorful birds sing their morning songs. Each day, we’ll come together in the shala for a grounding yoga and meditation session, one that will prepare us for a stellar day in Costa Rica. The intentional movements and conscious breathwork will help us slow down and reconnect to the natural world around us. From here, we’ll enjoy a delicious breakfast, then it’s off to the Sloth Sanctuary! On site, learn about the habitat and life cycles of the sloths and observe these adorable creatures in their natural habitat. Once we return to the resort, we’ll enjoy lunch and free time to rest and relax.
When the sun sets, you’re in for another wildlife treat, as we’ll embark on a tour of the area with a local guide. Walking the jungle at night gives us a chance to see nocturnal creatures, as they start their day within the landscape. After the tour, enjoy a group meal and a peaceful night’s rest.
Wake up with morning yoga, nourish the body at breakfast, and prepare for an epic day of exploration in Costa Rica. Our first stop is at a local village to see the Bribri – the indigenous people of Costa Rica. You’ll meet with a native family and learn all about their language, culture, and daily lives. They'll also share secrets of traditional remedies, along with a hunting demonstration. You’ll even learn how to make 10 different types of chocolate using the fruits and vegetables within their garden! Savor the delectable flavors before we go on a trek to a hidden waterfall, where we’ll spend the rest of the day’s sunshine relaxing and swimming in the cooling waters. When we return to the resort, we’ll eat dinner and head straight to bed for another day of fun.
Today begins with intention on our mats as we breathe in a new day and wake up the body with intentional movements. Listen to the jungle sounds, as you hone your yoga practice and strengthen the body. From here, fill up with a delicious breakfast because we're headed back to the ocean for a dolphin tour! Our guide will take us to the Manzanillo area to interact with bottlenose dolphins, the tucuxis, and the painted Atlantic dolphin. These majestic creatures love to play with the boats, so get your cameras ready for a truly unique experience.
Back at the resort, it’s all about R&R. Hang by the pool, watch the sunset down at the beach, or see where the day takes you before a sumptuous dinner in paradise.
Another beautiful day awaits us in the jungles of Costa Rica, starting with morning yoga and breakfast. Today, we’re off on another adventure, but this time, by sea. We’ll head to Punta Uva Beach and start our adventure paddling in the ocean until we make our way to the Punta Uva River. This winding waterway will lead us to a jungle paradise of birds, wild animals and tropical plants. We’ll also have some time for swimming and sunbathing on the pristine beach.
After an amazing day in the wild, we’ll head back to the resort and enjoy a well-deserved meal, free time, and tranquility.
Who can believe it’s our last full day of the retreat? Time sure does fly when you’re having fun. Morning yoga and meditation will set the tone and lead into our nourishing breakfast spread that will help us prepare for today’s adventure. Once we’re ready, we’re off to the shoreline for a snorkeling excursion, one that will show us the largest coral reef in the country! From colorful coral to fishy friends, we’ll see it all before we head back to the resort.
Since it’s our last night, we’ll come together for a meditation session to close out the retreat and center us from a week of incredible experiences. From here, we’ll partake in a farewell dinner, a time and space to reflect on all that we’ve shared, while honoring the land and those who helped us make this epic adventure possible. Soak it all in before making the journey home.
The day has come for us to say goodbye. From the beaches to the wildlife of Costa Rica, we’ve been lucky enough to experience it all. After breakfast, pack up and take your group transfer to the airport to catch your flight. We hope this experience has left you feeling rested and restored, remembering our connection to the land and its magic, even when we return home. Safe travels and be well!
