Do you feel it? You are about to embark on a journey that you will never forget, one that spans different cultures, locations, views, and time periods. It’s a true Peruvian tour de force… but before we can truly begin, we need to get settled in Lima! After you land in the nation’s bustling capital, you’ll be whisked away to your hotel where you’ll stay the night before heading north tomorrow. Relax, grab some food, and rest up – we’ll see you in the morning.
Wake up to the beautiful sights of Lima and get ready to kick off this incredible trip! After breakfast, we’ll be hopping on a plane and flying to Cusco, a city that is known around the world as the beginning of any visit to Machu Picchu. While we will be visiting the famous citadel in due time, we’re going to take today to explore the Sacred Valley, the gorgeous area that surrounds Cusco. The tour begins with a stop at a traditional Andean market where you can connect with the culture and do some shopping. From there, we’ll stop by Awana Kancha, a park with llamas, alpacas, and other fluffy animals. The final stop of the tour is the Ollantaytambo Ruins, a window into the region’s colorful history. We’ll complete the day by settling down in Ollantaytambo, a beautiful town in the shadow of the mountains. Check into your hotel, grab some dinner, and get some rest.
Yesterday was full of non-stop excitement, so it’s time to slow things down and appreciate the details. We’ll open up the day with yoga and meditation as always, but after that, the schedule is up to you. You can kick back and chill, snapping some pictures of the valley that surrounds you, or you can keep the adventure going by seeing what Ollantaytambo has to offer. You can just follow your heart today, tasting food, taking in the landscape, and chatting with the local people. Have fun!
Today is bound to be one of the most memorable of the entire trip, so let’s get out of bed and get ready! After the morning routine, we’ll head to the train station and catch a ride to Aguas Calientes, the village that serves as the final stop before Machu Picchu, the ancient citadel that sits in the mountains, shrouded by clouds, mist, and mystery. We’ll immediately begin hiking towards Machu Picchu, arriving to discover a magical destination that sits atop many travelers’ bucket lists. You’ll have plenty of time to feel the magic that pulses through this place during our visit – and don’t forget to snap some incredible photos to show your friends! (Photography skills not required… every photo taken in Machu Picchu is pretty much guaranteed to be legendary.) It’s then back to Aguas Calientes where we will sample some local cuisine for lunch and ride back to Ollantaytambo. The day isn’t over yet, though – rather than staying in Ollantaytambo another night, it’s back to bustling Cusco for the evening. We’ll drive there, check into the hotel, eat some dinner, and call it a night. Wow… what a day!
Wake up to a perfect day here in Cusco. We’ve left the schedule open so that you can do anything that’s still lingering on your Peru to-do list. Enjoy a calm day where you can spend some time feeling connected to the local culture before packing up in the evening and preparing for the second leg of our trip that begins tomorrow morning!
Peru is a land of many different landscapes – dusty valleys, monolithic mountains, and sweltering beaches. Perhaps the most iconic of them all, though, is the jungle. The Peruvian Amazon has a ton to offer, and your journey into this unique environment begins now! After yoga and meditation in the morning, you’ll fly to Iquitos, a town that is the perfect homebase for any jungle adventures. We won’t waste any time: as soon as you arrive, you’ll hop in a boat and ride along the river to Fundo Pedrito, an animal farm that is home to the species that are synonymous with the Amazon like parrots, anacondas, and more. We’ll then check into your accommodation for the next few days and grab some lunch. Finish up the afternoon with either a botanical walk or a canoe ride before eating dinner and then enjoying one final nocturnal excursion where a guide will take you to see the rainforest animals that only come out at night.
Are you a morning person? Well, we sure hope so. Even if not, though, the early wake-up call today is exciting enough to get you out of bed! We’ll be waking up at dawn to watch the sunrise and then go for an early morning walk to look for some of the unique bird species that can be found here. Yoga and meditation then lead to breakfast and a visit to Avatar Amazon Park, an area of your accommodation designed for thrill-seekers. Zip-lines and climbing areas will get your heart pumping before meeting with the local Yaguas community where you’ll learn about their customs and way of life. Then, in the evening, you’ll spend a bit more time in the jungle, walking and appreciating the natural beauty. Finally, we’ll wrap things up with dinner and a story session where local guides will take you through some of the legends of this area.
You’ve already gotten to explore quite a bit of what Iquitos has to offer, but we’ve only really scratched the surface. Today’s another action-packed day! A full day jungle excursion is ahead of you, beginning with a trip down the Amazon River to San Juan de Huachalado, a small town where you’ll do some sightseeing, hiking, and chatting with the locals. We’ll then stop for lunch at a local house in the community, giving you a chance to sample some true Amazonian delicacies. Finally, we’ll stop by a local distillery where you can sample the traditional beverages that are made here in the rainforest! Back at the hotel, we’ll round out the day with dinner, cocktails, and time to relax after lots of excitement.
Good morning! After our usual morning routine of yoga, meditation, and a delicious breakfast, we’re going to do something totally different: piranha fishing. This activity may sound intimidating, but it’s actually quite relaxing. We’ll then go for a swim in the Amazon River, enjoy a mud treatment as part of the area’s natural spa, and then go to an area where we can see river dolphins! After all of this water-themed fun, it will finally be time to check out of the hotel and fly back to Lima. Take some time to just enjoy a moment of tranquility back in the city before flying home tomorrow.
Believe it or not, but today is day 10 – that means it’s time to head home. Time really flies when you’re on the journey of a lifetime! After the morning routine, you’ll be driven to the airport so you can hop on a plane and fly away. Safe travels, and thanks so much for the amazing memories!
